Keep HOPE Alive!
In Psalm 3:2-6, David illustrates his hope in God when he writes, “2Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” 3 But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.4 I call out to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain. 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me. 6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.” Even through 20 years of incarceration, my husband John, like King David, exemplifies daily such hope. Oftentimes in our marriage, he is the one lifting me up and reminding me of God’s goodness that He’s shown us on so many occasions. John reminds me to remain hopeful — not in myself, or even in him; instead, he implores me to stay hopeful in God — for God doesn’t lie and He has great plans for us to have a beautiful future — on that we can depend. For John and I, incarceration sometimes gets in the way of our hope; for others it may be financial distress, family strains, or health issues. Whatever it is, today and everyday — #speakyatruth🗣💯 And keep HOPE alive.
