Pass Legislation to Protect In-Person Visiting in Prisons and Jails Throughout New York State

With 5 days left in the NY State legislative session (ending on June 19th), we have a unique opportunity to pass legislation that would protect in-person visiting in prisons and jails throughout the State. The Codification of Visits Bill already passed the State Senate and needs to be brought to the Assembly floor for a vote. Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie can do this! Please call his office TODAY and let him know: "It is so important that A.2483 be brought to the Assembly floor for a vote before June 19th. Father's Day is this Sunday and reminds us that children need NY's elected leaders to pass this bill to ensure that they can hug and touch their fathers (and mothers) when they visit them and that video visiting will never replace in-person visiting. I urge Speaker Heastie to bring this bill for a vote before Father's Day." #ProtectVisiting #SpeakYaTruth🗣💯 #WeGotUsNow #NYCIP
